This fall UCSB will kick off a series of sustainability planning workshops.

On Thursday Oct. 6 there will be a presentation open to the public on the Natural Step Sustainability framework. This presentation will be given by Duke Castle, a co-founder of the Oregon Natural Step Network.  This event will be held at:

UCSB Campus

1910 Buchanan Hall

6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

The Natural Step (www.naturalstep.org) is a Swedish derived sustainability framework that has been successfully used by Nike, Starbucks, Electrolux, City of Santa Monica and Whistler, British Columbia to guide their sustainability efforts. The Oregon Natural Step Network, a 250 member non-profit organization, was created to demonstrate how a community can move toward sustainability while maintaining a healthy economy. The University will use the Natural Step as a key component in guiding its development of a campus wide sustainability plan.
