The Project
The main focus of the 15 weeks is building the home of Arjuna da Silva, one of Earthaven Ecovillage's Founding Members. Her home is a 2-story straw bale, cob and adobe with already completed stone foundation and timber-frame. Natural finishes, sculptural details, bottle work and salvaged materials will all be incorporated. This will be the first full-fledged earth-and-straw home at Earthaven, as well as in the greater Asheville area. Other Earthaven projects and three working field trips will be included, giving interns the opportunity to work on various regional projects, with the benefit of experiencing several sites, facilitators, approaches and aspects of Natural Building that you would not otherwise have.

General schedule
25-30 hours per week of guided hands-on Natural Building
5 Natural Building workshops taught by guest presenters
3 working field trips to regional Natural Building projects
3 special workshops on other topics of 'sustainability'
2-3 days off per week so you can catch your breath
2 5-day breaks over the period of 15 weeks
You have the option to participate in other Earthaven events (for additional costs)
