ECO-Film Night

Bill Mollison Film Extravaganza

December 13, 2007, 7pm, donation $5

Santa Barbara Public Library, Faulkner Gallery

“In 1978 there was nothing quite like Permaculture. Twenty-eight years later Permaculture laps the globe, with over 4000 projects across 120 countries. Australian biologist Bill Mollison, founder of the Permaculture movement, has taught and developed projects from the Arctic through Sub-tropics, and Equatorial regions on the planet. He has been named Australia's "Man of the Year", and in 1981 received the prestigious Right Livelihood Award. There are few countries left in the world where he has not planted the seeds of Permaculture”.

Join Santa Barbara Permaculture Network for an evening of three films featuring Bill Mollison, his life and work. In 1997 Bill Mollison came to California teaching a course in Ojai, CA, initiating a ground swell of interest that helped create many local organizations, such as South Coast Permaculture Guild, Santa Barbara Permaculture Network, the Ojai Institute, San Luis Obispo Permaculture Guild, Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild and others. Come hear the history of Permaculture and celebrate 10 years of Permaculture in Santa Barbara.

Films to be shown:

Permaculture is a design system based on ecological principles for creating sustainable human environments, and is one of the most holistic, integrated systems analysis and design methodologies found in the world.  Originally coined from the words PERMAnent agriCULTURE, it has evolved to one of permanent or sustainable culture with consciously designed landscapes that mimic the patterns of nature.

The event takes place at the downtown Santa Barbara Public Library, 40 E. Anapamu St, Santa Barbara, CA, on Thursday, December 13, 7pm for a donation of $5. No reservations are needed, for more info, contact 805-962-2571, or www.sbpermaculture.org, margie@sbpermaculture.org.
