SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences’ Center for Sustainability will host a panel presentation titled “Paths to Sustainability in Food and Agriculture” from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Chumash Auditorium on campus. Part of the center’s quarterly Sustainable Ag Lecture Series, the event is free and open to the public.

Panelists from four of California’s leading food producers and processors will share their expertise and experiences implementing sustainability programs and practices in their operations. The event will conclude with a question-and-answer session.

Guest speakers include: Cliff Ohmart, vice president of SureHarvest; Jocelyn Gretz, sustainable agriculture program manager for Rio Farms; Naomi Sakoda, sustainability specialist at Driscoll's; and Duncan Dowdle, director quality assurance and technical services at Wawona Frozen Foods; and Gour Choudhury, head of the Cal Poly Food Science and Nutrition Department.

The event will precede the college’s 24th annual Ag Showcase hosted by the Agribusiness Management and National Agri-Marketing Association (ABM/NAMA) Club.
