Come by to see how the aquatic environment installed at M&A has evolved since it was installed in March. infranaturals' monsters churn the water in reaction to your presence and gestures, an ecosystem comprised of dragonflies and water plants floats tranquilly, and the AIA award-winning bamboo bridge by workshopLEVITAS has bleached to an elegant ivory.

Permaculture Design Lecture at the Santa Monica Public Library Auditorium
Concerned about global warming? Wish you could do something about increasing energy prices? Wondering how to work with what you have to make a difference?

Geoff Lawton is a world-renowned permaculture practitioner. He has proven tactics that work, based on science and logic. He emigrated from England to Australia and studied permaculture with the originator, Bill Mollison, in Tasmania. He founded the Permaculture Research Institute
( permaculture.org.au ) on Tagari Farm in New South Wales, Australia, a 147-acre farmstead previously developed by Mollison. Since 1985, Geoff has designed and implemented permaculture projects in 18 countries for private individuals and groups, communities, governments, aid organizations, and multinational corporations. He has taught the Permaculture Design Certificate course in 20 countries.

Open Air Projection & Performance @ M&A
Sarah Elgart performs DRIFT, followed by screening of the animations of Ondrej Rudavsky.

Choreographer/dancer/director, Sarah Elgart will make the aquatic garden at M&A come alive! As the wife of renowned bamboo artist, Stephen Glassman, she has danced through bamboo installations around the world. With live music and sound by Paul Chavez, this mesmerizing performer will activate the waters and elaborate upon the bamboo bridge. After dusk, the magical world of Eastern European filmmaker and animator, Ondrej Rudavsky, will be projected upon the walls surrounding Here There Be Monsters.

June 8th, 2006: AIA Design Honor Awards:
Ball-Nogues' installation, Maximilian's Schell and workshop LEVITAS's work for Here There Be Monsters each won a Design Honor Award in a juried competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architects.
