The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden announces the Annual Dara Emery Memorial Lecture. This year's lecture will be presented by Glenn Keator, co-author of Designing California Native Gardens. Specializing in California native plants, Glenn will present simple ways to transform your garden with low-maintenance natives that will provide color and texture all year-round.

Glenn Keator is a botanist, teacher, and writer based in Berkeley, CA. He specializes in teaching students how to identify California natives and use them in gardens, although his interest extends to plants from other parts of the world as well. Besides teaching, he has written several other books, including The Life of an Oak: An Intimate Portrait and Introduction to Trees of the San Francisco Bay Region. Glenn also leads field trips throughout California and beyond.

A book signing will follow the lecture.

Tickets are $20 for Garden members, and $25 for non-members. Reservations strongly suggested; please contact the Botanic Garden Registrar at (805) 682-4726, ext. 102.
