Subject: Dirt therapy, great for the soul: Volunteer at the Community garden this weekend!
To: LACOLLAB@LISTSERV.LADHS.ORG

Dear Collaborative member and partners,

Dirt therapy...it is great for the soul! :-) Come volunteer at the South L.A. Community garden on Saturday, October 27th from 8 a.m. to noon. The garden is located at 4521 S. Western Avenue. The garden is growing through an initiative sponsored by the Community Coalition, Faith in Christ Ministries, and the Los Angeles Network for a Healthy California, African American Campaign. They have received a donation of more than 40 plants that need your loving attention. Bring your gardening tools and continue the work of an urban oasis! Attached is a flyer for more information. (From what I have heard, the nectarine crop this summer was simply delicious!) It is a perfect opportunity: You can feel great about volunteering and enjoy the benefits of being physically active. Green thumbs handed out free of charge. Hope to see you there. Healthy Regards,
