Looking for a soulful, peaceful, beautiful place to call home in the midst of the chaos of the city?  Know someone who is?

Come share this beautiful Eagle Rock home with me. East of East LA, close to Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Highland Park, Glassell Park, Silverlake, and Occidental College.

It's a great house - incredible views from every window - built in the 30s.  Has lots of charm and a nice yard (food forest in the making). The place is gorgeous. Amenities include a huge bathroom, gas fireplace, gas stove, washer and dryer, hardwood floors, lots of storage in the garage, wireless internet, front porch/breakfast nook (exceptional view), gourmet kitchen. Rent is $875/month with $875 deposit. Utilities are split.

About me:
I am an active professional in my late 30s. I am into sustainability and growing food, teach yoga, permaculture, and high school science.  I have three rabbits who mostly reside in my bedroom.

Ideal roommate (doesn't have to match this - it's a guideline rather than a check list!) is 30s to 40s (mature) and has a steady job
Good credit
Clean but not uptight (willing to spend time cleaning weekly or biweekly, does dishes regularly)
Conservation minded (recycles, turns lights off, keeps bills low)
Health conscious
Non-smoking
Communicates about what’s going on in a respectful, responsible manner
Pays bills on time
Enjoys entertaining occasionally (mostly quiet during weekdays)

Pluses if you are:
Handy, lots of practical skills, likes to work around the house
Environmentally aware, alert, active

Send me an email if you're interested!
Thanks,
Joan

"...the greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone.
Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter."
