This weekend, Oct. 16, 17, & 18, is the 20th anniversary of the Bioneers Conference, an outstanding event where the world's finest social and scientific innovators share solutions inspired by nature and human ingenuity.   For the 1st time, this event will be beamed LIVE in LA at the Downtown Independent Theater.

We are excited to present the 1st LA Beaming Bioneers Conference.  Come together as a community and join the efforts to make LA sustainable.

Each day begins with live plenary presentations from the Bioneers Conference in San Rafael.

Plus local LA presentations and panels focusing on Sustainable Transportation, Sustainable Communities, LA Water and LA Communities in Action.

Project Butterfly, Electric Lodge, Evolution Jewels and Downtown Independent bring you the First Bioneers Beaming Simulcast in the city of Los Angeles.

The Beaming Bioneers program provides a focal point for communities to come together around local solutions and take action.  LA Beaming Bioneers is choosing to bring the annual Bioneers Conference to the citizens and organizations of Los Angeles, to provide the tools and inspiration to be catalysts for change in their own community.

The LA Beaming Bioneers event will consist of:

Andrew Weil
Andrew Weil M.D.: The nation's foremost authority on holistic medicine & author of numerous books including international bestsellers, Spontaneous Healing and Eight Weeks to Optimum Health.

Joanna Macy
Joanna Macy: Author, celebrated Buddhist teacher, eco-philosopher and activist in the peace, justice, and ecology movements.

Jerome Riingo
Jerome Ringo: President of the Apollo Alliance, and the first African-American to head a major conservation organization, the National Wildlife Federation.


Sarah James
Sarah James: The revered Gwich'in Elder from Alaska, who has won many awards for her work to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil drilling, including the Goldman Environmental Prize, depicts how her people are being severely impacted on the front lines of rapid climate change, and how they are responding.

Denny Zane:  Executive Director of Move LA, former  Mayor and for 12 years a city councilmember in Santa Monica, former Executive Director of Coalition for Clean Air.

Larry Santoyo
Larry Santoyo: Director of EarthFlow Designs, land use planner and green business consultant. Santoyo is among the most experienced Permaculture Designers and Educators in the US.

Eric Mann
Eric Mann: Director of the Labor/Community Strategy Center in Los Angeles and a founder of the Bus Riders Union.  The Strategy Center is a "think tank/act tank" that trains organizers and initiates high visibility environmental justice, mass transportation, and civil rights campaigns.

Hillary Norton
Hilary Norton: Executive Director, FastLA.org.  Fixing Angelenos Stuck in Traffic [FAST] is a non-profit, public-private partnership dedicated to designing and supporting the implementation of fast-term strategies to reduce LA County's traffic congestion.
