A sheet mulching project (i.e. killing the lawn and weeds by composting in place) is in the finishing stages of completion in Torrance. The homeowner isn't going to sheet mulch to kill the weedy plants in the median strips on her own initiative so there's finely eucalyptus chipped leaves and branches - now turning into compost - left over from the job. Bring a pickup truck, a tarp to line the bed with (this also makes it a lot easier to clean up after) and your own tools for loading.

There are about 4.5 cubic yards of eucalyptus tree trimmings. Eucalyptus is perfectly fine for composting and sheet mulching with. It's only if you keep applying this material repeatedly year in and year out that the chemicals in eucalyptus will build up in the soil and impede the growth of other plants. Don't reject this opportunity to pick up some free soil building material out of fear of what you've heard about eucalyptus.

Come by and pick up this material by Friday, November 19th before it rains this weekend! Please make arrangements directly with the homeowner. Call 310.530.5000 and ask for Joy. Delivery is NOT an option due to her back injury.
