Please check out my friend's group in Haiti: Generation Roots (look them up on Facebook.com also)

Generation Roots:
Need Support to build Portable Water Cisterns in Fondwa, Haiti

Summary:

Generation Roots wishes to venture in a loan. However, their product is new and they do not have a market to sell. Moreover, they are operating in Fondwa, a rural area of Leogane. Now, they fabricate and design portable water cisterns in a Haitian style. Therefore, this organization is looking for a donation to pre-launch while imparting artistic knowledge to the youth there to prepare them to be leaders and entrepreneurs.

Community Impact:

Fondwa region has 20 neighborhoods. The development of this project will encourage at least ten families to conserve more water for their households. The development of this project will help local people to keep selling bamboos and encourage the average households in the community to use it in another profitable way. The donation should help cut the selling price of about 60%. It will also create two jobs from youth in the community, besides the transfer of knowledge that will occur. The project promotes planting more bamboos and their usage in crafts such as bamboo baskets. The proposed activity will be a model of arts and craft manufacturing to the urban areas of Haiti.

Not sure if this is the correct place to promote this, although I feel there are people on this list who would be interested in donating to such a cause.

Thank you for your consideration,
