In addition to Penny Livingston-Stark, James Stark and Brock Dolman, the following teachers will be contributing to the two-week experience:

- Juliette de Bairacli Levy - Herbalist, Author, Traveler, and Pioneer of Holistic Veterinary Medicine
For more than 60 years Juliette lived with the Gypsies, nomads and peasants of the world, learning the healing arts of these people, and learning from nature herself. Now in her 90’s, Juliette is as colorful and exciting as her tremendous wealth of herbal knowledge.

- Dennis Martinez – Indigenous Restorative Land Management
Dennis is a scientist who has dedicated his career to building bridges between traditional indigenous and Western cultures.

- Michael Presley – Wind, Water & Weather
Man of the Earth, farmer, herbalist, weatherman and permaculturist.

- K. Ruby - Bee Keeping with the Kenyan Top Bar Hive
K.Ruby is a permaculture designer, beekeeper, teacher, gardener, activist and artist. She has been keeping bees in the urban Bay Area for about five years.

- Todd Haddow, Scott Brinton and Rachel Van Laanan – Nature Awareness Team
Through guided sensory activities such as bird language listening, tracking and identification, we will deepen our ability to observe the land and all its inhabitants. These skills will then provide foundation for appropriate, localized project and community design.

REGENERATIVE DESIGN TRAINING PROGRAM
Summer Session: begins May 11th

There are still a few spaces open for the upcoming trimester (May-August) of our Regenerative Design Training Program. This advanced program meets two full days per week for four months for theory and hands-on training. Course details at: www.permacultureinstitute.com/civicspace/rdi

Highlights:
Last term the focus was on design. In the summer session, our emphasis will be on implementation with a focus on hands-on projects such as:
- constructing a cob greenhouse with an aqua-culture pond and living wall
- installing a bio-filter for at least one pond
- installing a photovoltaic solar system for the pond pump
- a food garden for the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS)
- a woodchip/clay or cordwood tool shed
In addition, students will choose a personal project to work on.

Guest lecturers this summer will include the amazing Ane Carla Rovetta, who will teach us about building with Tule rushes culminating in the construction of either a boat or a small sleeping hut. Dennis Martinez will be teaching us about indigenous restorative land management. Many hands on aspects of the course will be led by Michael Presley who will also share his profound knowledge of wind, water & weather. The Kamana program (www.wildernessawareness.org/kamana.html) will guide our training in wilderness awareness, bird language, tracking and observing the land.

A permaculture design certificate is a prerequisite for course participants, however, the course can be taken concurrently with a Permaculture Design Course. Space is still available in the May 28-June 11 course at Commonweal Garden in Bolinas, CA.
