I have been following Devin Slavin and his work in Ventura County for over a year.  He is now up in the Santa Cruz area. He has created this Facebook site about his Grow Food Party Crews.  I would highly recommend him and his model.  He was very successful in Ventura and Ojai before moving north.

Permaculture is a World-Wide Movement... a design approach that uses ecological principles to help create sustainable communities that can have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. Permaculture goes well beyond just being a "gardening system" and offers a positive framework for critical decision-making, problem solving and finding your right livelihood.

This certificate course will give you tools for food security, water and energy conservation ; building social capital; developing a sustainable economy; and much more.

Design professionals can add new qualifications to their resumes and can offer sustainability services to their clients. Homeowners, gardeners, and land managers learn to increase the value and productivity of their property. Real estate and development companies are able to better address the public's growing concern for the environment- and teachers will learn to integrate permaculture design into their curriculum.
