Hello Green Shorts Partners,
There is still time to submit a video to the
Green Shorts Video Contest. The deadline for submissions is next Monday, May 18th. It would be great to see a few more submissions. Particularly some more bike related videos as the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition has there own prize to give out at Bike to Work Day (May 20). If you have submitted a video or plan to submit a video be sure to register for the contest at
www.sbearthday.org and make sure to mail or drop off a high quality version for the screening event and for airing on Channel 17.
Screening Event - Save The Date: The top rated videos will be screened at Samy's Camera on Saturday, June 6th from 7:00 - 8:30. In addition to screening the top videos, the Green Shorts winners will be announced and a short documentary will be screened at the event. The documentary is called "Behind the Lines, Fighting a Wildland Fire" about fire fighters that battled the Tea Fire, produced by a local filmmaker Jennie Reinish (
http://web.me.com/reinish/Site/Tidepool_Pictures_Presents.html). Food and beverages will be provided. We are expecting a strong turnout for this event considering the current Jesusita fire. I will send out a press release regarding this event on Tuesday of next week.
