Subject: Fair Fish Day of Action in Santa Barbara

Dear Barbara,

Later this month, people from across the country will stand up for our oceans, sustainable seafood, and small-scale fishermen with Food and Water Watch's National Fair Fish Day of Action.

With the recent Nobel Prize in Economics going to an expert on sustainable agriculture and with hundreds of volunteers working with Food and Water Watch on this issue, there has been a lot of buzz about how privatization of our oceans will negatively affect the environment, family fishermen, and the seafood consumer.

With this momentum, we must amp up the effort and make sure that our voices are being heard by Congress.

On October 27th, the Santa Barbara Fair Fish Campaign will be taking part in the Day of Action. We will be hosting a press conference with a local fishermen and a slow food leader at the mic, generating over 100 phone calls into Representative Capps' office, and asking Lois Capps to join us by calling for a Congressional oversight hearing on fisheries management this fall.

To make this happen, we need your help.  We have two more weeks to build this event and need people for a variety of different tasks, from creating artwork to calling media. Can you spare an hour to help?

Yes!
