Join horticulturist, garden designer, and author Carol Bornstein for an illustrated lecture on how to replace your thirsty lawn with a beautiful, water-wise landscape. This free program will be held on Wednesday, May 4th, 7:00 p.m., at Santa Barbara's Louise Lowry Davis Center, located at 1232 De La Vina Street.

Following her talk, Bornstein will be signing "Reimagining the California Lawn: Water-conserving Plants, Practices, and Designs." Just released by local publisher Cachuma Press, this new book features many gardens from the Santa Barbara area. For this publication, Bornstein teamed up with David Fross of Arroyo Grande and Bart O'Brien of Claremont, who were also her co-authors of the award-winning "California Native Plants for the Garden" (2005).

This event is hosted by the Santa Barbara County Horticultural Society. For more information, visit their website at www.sbhort.org.
