Sustainable Vocations (www.sustainablevocations.org/home/programs) is a pioneering program for young people (ages 15 – 24) that integrates permaculture, leadership, nature awareness and community regeneration, while simultaneously providing green vocational inspiration and preparation. In the process, students earn an internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certification and graduate with the practical skills to enhance their employment opportunities and life path – all while creating a more sustainable future for us all.

Our innovative and timely curriculum has earned the endorsement of many organizations and prominent leaders. For example, Van Jones, a leading voice for a green economy and program ally, has endorsed Sustainable Vocations as “vital for rebuilding the dream of America.”

This Summer 2012 offering is particularly exciting, as pioneers of the sustainability movement have joined our staff as teachers and mentors. Brad Lancaster (www.harvestingrainwater.com/), one of the world’s foremost experts on water harvesting, Owen Dell (www.owendell.com/index.html), an award-winning and internationally respected landscape architect, and Sasha Rabin (www.verticalclay.com/), natural building instructor and founder of Vertical Clay natural building company, will provide an additional program layer and complement an already dynamic teaching team.
