Learn Earth Plaster

June 6-15th, 2012 Santa Barbara, CA

Dear Friends of Earth:

You're invited to come participate in a round of interesting, educational earth building at the Oasis Design research site on San Marcos Pass, starting Wednesday, June 6th, 8th, 1/2 day on the 9th, free day on the 10th, then Monday the 11th through Friday the 15th midday.

We're going to be working with master plasterer Kieran Fitzsimmons on some really interesting projects designed collaboratively by Massey Burke, Kieran, Betty Siemans,  Art Ludwig, and others.

The site in Santa Barbara has hundreds of original integrated design innovations under development, several of which have been recognized as best practices worldwide. (All designs are published into the public domain via our books and web site, none are patented).

There is no cost to learn from these craftspeople who teach workshops costing hundreds of dollars. Here we are following the successful template of earlier plaster and cob fests where work is traded for learning in a fun environment to create a mutually beneficial, no cost learning opportunity. There's space to stay here and excellent organic food will be provided. When it gets too hot we'll head to the creek. There's a drum circle nearby on the 9th. On the afternoon of the 15th through Sun the 17th we're headed to the Live Oak Festival if you'd care to join us.

Please RSVP ASAP.  The work is more detailed this time, and there is limited space and more Kieran attention. Priority will be given to people able to commit for more days and/or who have more experience.
