In 1984, a Santa Barbara community organization produced a day-long conference on oil, energy, and ethics. Eric Werbalowsky documented this program on video for my UCSB environmental studies senior thesis, and added historic news footage of the 1969 S.B. Oil Spill. Thirty one years later, and 46 years after the '69 spill, while renewable energy has evolved, these issues still remain prominently debated locally, statewide and in national policies. Highlights include Amory Lovins, David Brower, Richard Baker roshi, and local heroes Paul Relis, Jack O'Connell, and Gary Hart.
