This is Klaus Juergen Schmidt, Managing Editor of the Zimbabwe-based
Radio Bridge Overseas Trust (RBO).

I would like to introduce to you a special multimedia project on our
website at:

"MAKING IT WORK"  explains, in 8 episodes, the experience of
communities with a variety of appropriate technologies in Ethiopia,
Kenya, Botswana and Zimbabwe. Based on audio-features which have been
researched and produced by RBO and put on air in these 4 countries, we
have developed an additional interactive access to research and
projects your organisation is involved in. Subsequently we built links
to some of your pages, demonstrating a new global approach to the
dissemination of local or regional experiences, breaking cultural and
language barriers: All 8 audio-episodes are also available, through
Internet, in Kiswahili and in Shona. Another audio-serial you may
access on our website, "LIVING IDEAS" - a research into
community-based management of natural resources in Namibia, Botswana,
Zimbabwe and Zambia, offers even versions in Setswana and Bemba.

RBO explains on additional pages its novel approach to educational
packaging, which incorporates - as you will see - entertaining
elements such as "RBO's Treasure Hunt", encouraging visitors to our
website to browse through pages. Thus "GLOBAL VILLAGE VOICES" is in
the making, an RBO-project that will connect community broadcasters
worldwide, thereby allowing communities without Internet-access,
through their local radio station, to participate in the global
exchange of  experiences on grassroot-level.

RBO's "GLOBAL VILLAGE VOICES" follows the principle of "LOCAL AGENDA
21", and its intitiative has been identifed as one of the "Worldwide
Projects" of EXPO2000, the World Exposition in Hannover / Germany.

The Radio Bridge Overseas Trust would like to encourage you to seek
co-operation in design and production of similar presentation on
