Holistic Management Lecture and Two-Day Workshop with Christopher Peck,
Permaculture Teacher and.Certified Educator with the Center for Holistic
Management, Curriculum Director for the Permaculture Drylands Institute and
Owner of Holistic Solutions, a holistic management and permaculture-based
consulting firm. Holistic Management is a creation of Allan Savory, a
biologist from Zimbabwe who is the founding director of the Center for
Holistic Management Albuquerque NM. Through direct and prolonged
observation, he developed a comprehensive "decision-making and planning
model" that incorporates goal setting, the appropriate use of tools, and
careful monitoring of effects to move toward social, financial and
ecological sustainability and management. As a challenge to conventional
decision-making, it creates a process and a place for holistic thinking to
take place. Holistic management applies this realization to the management
of farms, ranches, businesses, and the lives of individuals.
