ECHO, a non-profit promoting improved subsistence in so-called "Third
World"ares, distributes a book on growing sugar cane that includes this
information. Stem cuttings are used. They root at the nodes like many other
grasses. In any case, the book is inexpensive and detailed. Contact echo
a echo at echonet.org
If that doesn't work for you, contact me privately and I'll try to help
you out.
