Hi everyone
just came back from Northern California and stop by and finally visited
City of Arcata and their amazing waste water marsh built for storm runoff
and wastewater treatment. Look at the website below to get a feeling of
what has been created , a natural sysytem that deals with wastewater and
create a amazing marsh system that create a living world for birds and all
living beings. People say who have lived in Arcata that they take pride
when they flush their toilets not many communities can say that.

The City of Arcata is located 250 miles north of San Francisco on the
northeastern shore of Humboldt Bay. Arcata constructed
the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary in 1981 and incorporated
wastewater treatment in 1986. The Arcata Marsh is an
example of a community's involvement in environmental politics,
innovative uses of land, and applications of appropriate
technology in a small urban community. The marsh has multiple uses
including recreation, wildlife habitat, education, and
                                         wastewater treatment.
