The purpose of Non-Violent Communication (“NVC”) is to inspire compassion
from others and respond compassionately to others. NVC helps us express
ourselves and hear others by focusing on what we observe, hear, feel, need
and want. For more information on NVC, check out www.cnvc.org.

Jorge Rubio is an NVC certified trainer. Jorge is also the Project Director
for the Latin American Center for Non-Violent Communication. He has worked
in Colombia, the US, and Sweden teaching and employing the tools of NVC to
encourage peace in war-torn countries and to bring inter-personal healing to
relational strife. Jorge has worked with the Office of the High Commissioner
for Peace in Columbia and has trained both community leaders and police
officers throughout Colombia. He is currently working in the U.S. and Latin
America to establish NVC-trained communities to ease racial tension,
domestic violence, addiction, and to aid in youth outreach and social
change. Now is an especially critical time for us all to learn and hone
these skills and encourage the use of NVC to lay the foundation for an
international culture of peace.
