Dear members and friends,

The Ecology Center's much loved Indigenous Permaculture Program is
doing exciting work and could use a little help with a few items.

   * Do you have a veggie oil vehicle to lend to a great cause?
   * Do you know of a garden plot and/or a small office space?

Veggie Vehicle
==============
The Indigenous Permaculture Program is taking another trip to the
Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, leaving Thursday May 26 and
returning Wednesday June 1. They'll be teaching folks on the
reservation about biofuels. They have one vehicle but need another,
and are hoping for a veggie oil vehicle, to cut down on fuel costs.
If you have a vehicle (of any type) to lend, please let us know.

Garden and Office Space
======================
The IPP is also looking for an East Bay work space. They'd like to
have a garden area and a small adjacent area to do office work. If
you have a (free or low-cost) backyard that the IPP could use for
demonstration and classes, or an office area, or any free garden
plot, please let us know.

Background
=============
The Indigenous Permaculture Program is a grassroots organization,
organized by meso-American Indian peoples. The mission of the IPP is
to provide knowledge and training to Native and local communities in
the cities to utilize indigenous methods of land stewardship.
Programs are offered to the residents of urban areas to promote
awareness of the human impact on the natural environment and on
indigenous communities when choices are made in an unsustainable way.
We emphasize methods of utilizing the resources available in the city
and demonstrating how conscious choices can help to care for and
preserve the Mother Earth. The IPP gives free, intensive workshops
in San Francisco and the East Bay, as well as on the Pine Ridge
Reservation, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

Please contact me at the Ecology Center, or Guillermo Vasquez of the
IPP directly at 415-552-5448 or mayalencanahuat at yahoo.com .
