Come and join Projects in Sustainability (ENVST 200; Section 3236) at Santa
Barbara City College Thursday evenings from 6-8:20 pm in Earth and Biological
Sciences room (EBS) 309 starting August 31.

This is a course that allows you to put the rubber to the road. If you find
yourself curled up in a ball on the floor whimpering about the current
state of
the world, this class is for you. In ENVST 200 we turn our frustration into
positive gain. Groups choose projects designed to make their local community
more environmentally and socially sustainable. Through this process you will
work with fellow students, faculty, staff, administrators, city officials, and
local experts to accomplish your goal. Projects include, but are not
limited to:
Renewable energy, Transportation, Organic foods, Recycling, Outreach,
Community
Events (Earth Week or Sustainability Week), Conference Planning (Zaca Lake in
Spring 2007, Sustainability in Higher Education in Summer 2007), Film, and
Sustainability assessment. Learn valuable skills by doing what you are
passionate about. Interact with motivated like-minded students of all ages to
achieve a worth-while goal. Be apart of a growing movement toward a better
design. We will also attend lectures in Ecopsychology as advertised in the
Continuing Education catalog.
