If you missed the Intro to Permaculture last month, we have a repeat presentation this coming Tuesday. There is an ad in New Times on page 10 announcing this. Please pass this along to others as we need to reach the Tipping Point…..More people who have the future of our planet in mind and are responsible stewards of our world’s resources. You are part of the solution. We return to the original instructions and solutions of the earth. Earth Care, People Care, Share the Wealth!
This is the normal thing to do. Respectful. Responsible. Resilient. (The new 3 Rs.)

An Introduction to Permaculture in SLO
6:30 Reception 7- 9pm Discussion
Tuesday, March. 25th, 2014
San Luis Obispo Grange Hall 2880
Broad St. San Luis Obispo, CA
Join the SLO Permaculture Guild for an Introduction to Permaculture, a design methodology for creating living spaces, food systems, and communities based on holistic, ecological principles and relevant to individuals from any background. Josh Carmichael the owner of Carmichael Environmental, a landscaping design build firm, is a permaculture designer, educator, and local of the Central Coast. He will be sharing stories from his extensive experience to using permaculture as a tool for positive and effective change. He will discuss techniques to increase food production at home with edible landscaping and sustainable gardening. Others, such as Montgomery Norton of Paso Food Coop will be joining the conversation as well. The evening’s informal discussion will also address common questions such as: What is Permaculture? Where did it come from? Does it work? How can we get involved? What is a PDC? When our local PDC take place?

Free appetizers will be provided, compliments of Nature’s Touch Natural Foods and Nursery in Templeton, showcasing local, sustainably produced fare.

This free, introductory event is one of several to be held before the upcoming SLO Permaculture Design Course. Offered on eleven Saturdays and three Sundays, May through September, the course is organized by volunteers as a flexible, low cost way for individuals to deepen their knowledge about truly sustainable living. Course sessions are hosted at exemplar sites throughout the county and draw on local teachers and practitioners to provide hands-on, pertinent information and examples. The course is aligned with accredited permaculture curriculum and awards an internationally recognized certificate to participants upon completion of a final design project. Find out more online at www.slopermaculture.net and see the attached brochure.
