Speaker: Mycologist Nathan Wilson,
Author, photographer, artist and computer expert. As webmaster he 
authored the Mushroom Observer (www.mushroomobserver.org 
<http://www.mushroomobserver.org>)
Nathan's interest in fungi started when he was 10 years old.
As a computer professional he is a senior software developer 
specializing in 3D and animation. He has a master's degree in computer 
science from UCSC his thesis was about computer Identification of 
Biological Species.
HIs interest in computers has led him to create several mushroom related 
websites including the Santa Cruz Fungus Fair Site and, in collaboration 
with Elio Schaechter, A Mycological Voice From the Past, which 
celebrates an early work on Phallus by Hadrianus. His current projects 
include Taxonomic Changes for Mushroom Field Guides and the Fungus 
Species Lists Site
He was past president of LAMS. And an active member of national and 
international mycological societies.
Topic:
He will be talking about mushroom identification using his website as an 
example. with over 5000 pictures, he will share a collection of 
beautiful photos he has taken over the years. And show how everyone can 
participate in adding to this great collection of knowledge.
