It Takes a Village to Transition a Lawn

A community project to transform a 3000 sq/ft lawn into a Learning Garden

North East Los Angeles Transition invites you to participate in "It Takes a
Village to Transition a Lawn", the transformation of an existing 3000 sq/ft
lawn into a diverse, natural garden which conserves water, attracts birds
and insects with a design based on natural ecosystems. This garden will be
a place to hold workshops in the future. This transformation will take
place at Throop Church in Pasadena on the weekends of October 8-9, and
October 22-23.

It is a great opportunity to learn from experienced permaculturists and
landscaper designers about planting a fruit and nut tree guild, drought
tolerant planting, herb garden establishment, water harvesting, swale
building and community building. Bring a shovel and gloves.

Participation is FREE!
