Compost Worms for Feed, Fertilizer, and Fun! Workshop/Dinner/Dance Party

Join us on Sunday January 6th at Cross Bull Ranch in Topanga Canyon, CA for a day of compost worm educational activities!
Vermiculture is the practice of growing worms for the purpose of turning compostable organic matter (typically kitchen scraps and/or manure) into high quality fertilizer in the form of "worm castings".
In addition to the production of worm castings, vermiculture has several other beneficial functions and yields including:
	* protein rich livestock feed
	* worm juice as a form of "compost tea"
	* the worms do all the work to create high quality plant food FAST, no need to turn a compost pile
	* high market value of worm compost products
	* fun educational tool for children at home and at school
	* it can be done in apartments where compost heaps aren't viable
	* and more much!

Schedule:
	* 2-3pm Vermiculture Mini Film Fest
	* 3-5pm Design/Build/Install an automatic worm feeder system for the chicken coop, plus worm give away (bring a container so you can take home free worms!)
	* 5:30-7:30pm Potluck Dinner (scraps go to the worms of course!)

	* 7:30-11pm Dance Party! (wiggle like a red wiggler on the dance floor!)

What to Bring:
	* Water
	* Warm clothes/long sleeves (we're in a frost pocket low in the canyon)
	* Sturdy Shoes
	* Gloves
	* Potluck dish or snack
	* Personal dishes and utensils
	* $15 Donation
	* Willingness to sign liability waiver for hands-on activities
