Papaya Tree Nursery in North Hills is a hoot and has great rare friut trees and shrubs. Alex Silber.

I haven't been able to find comfrey-anyone else know where to buy?

Cory, in LA, climates range from 14 degress in winter (Malibu Cyn) to no freeze at all (by the coast). I've had clients who couldn't grow bougainvillea, but 4 houses down the slope could. All very local...If you need help on your gardens and my schedule is open, I'd be happy to help. Jennifer 818 262 5065

>Are you talking about the one in Willetts? I love that too, but looking for something local. Doesn't have to be a permie nursery per se, but interested in perennial vegetables in particular. And great local fruit tree nurseries are good too. Anybody have starts they'd like to share with me, or let me buy? ?Comfrey? Okinawa spinach? Edible hibiscus? How does leucaena do in LA, by the way? Invasive at all? In Florida, it's pretty aggressive. Anybody growing semi tropic summer greens??

>I wanted to pass on the information about a PDC I'm taking that Warren Brush is lead teaching here in Los Angeles. If anyone knows Warren Brush and is familiar with Quail Springs, then you know what an incredible opportunity this is to have him teaching a full PDC course in Los Angeles. Some of the other amazing instructors are: Joan Stevens of MamaBotanica, Heath Perry of the Urban Permaculture House, C. Darren Butler of EcoWorkshops.com, and Kellee Matsushita, Certified UC Master Gardener. I've also heard that there will be surprise guest lecturers. You can register and find more information out about the course at ecoworkshops.com. The deadline to register is Jan 23rd,?
