HAND SCULPTED HOUSES

Ever wonder what to do with the clay under your feet?  Build a cob cottage!
On November 19th, cob builders Ianto Evans and Linda Smiley will visit San
Diego to speak on this natural building material.  Evans and Smiley are
coauthors of the book, "The Hand-Sculpted House: A Practical and
Philosophical Guide to Building a Cob Cottage"  Their presentation includes
a slide show and books will be available for sale and signing.

WHEN:  Tuesday, Nov 19, 2002, 7- 8pm

WHERE:  Ocean Beach People's Food Co-op, 4765 Voltaire Street (come see

Ianto Evans of Cob Cottage Company (www.deatech.com/cobcottage) is an
applied ecologist, landscape architect and pioneer in earth structures
(cob), with building experience on six continents. Linda Smiley is a
director of The Cob Cottage Company, as well as a master cobber and
recreational therapist. She also teaches workshops in cob, sculpting sacred
spaces, intuitive design, and natural plasters and finishes.

The San Diego event is one stop on a Southern California book tour
organized by the CA South Coast Permaculture Network and sponsored by Santa
