What if you couldn't take a shower, or if you were limited to the time
spent in the shower every morning? On Saturday, November 15th, San Diegans
will participate in one of the most important discussions of water
entitled, "Water Crisis - How it Affects Your Shower" sponsored by the
League of Women Voters of San Diego County.

Believe it or not, the conversation of Southern California's water crisis
is part of your shower, your ability to wash clothes, or water your lawn.
Join us in the Santa Fe Room at the Balboa Park Club in Balboa Park (near
the Aerospace Museum), as the vital topic of San Diego's water supply is
discussed. The forum is open to everyone who wants to know if there is
enough water to keep us clean and safe in the future, registration starts
at 8:15 a.m.; the discussion starts promptly at 8:30 a.m. going to 12:45
p.m. with opportunities for the public to ask questions of the speakers.
There will be great exhibits on desalination and home gardens; a light
luncheon will be available. California native plants that are adapted to
the region's rainfall will be raffled and donations will be accepted.

You've heard about the big Water Deal - San Diego getting water from
Imperial Valley. But don't kid yourself - taking more water from another
county won't save San Diego from a looming water crisis without your
personal involvement. Water conservation is one way to take the water we
have and make it do more and last longer. Water recycling teaches us that
water is a renewable resource to be used over and over again. We'll
discuss these topics and others, including "Water Transfers, Big Deals with
Big Effects" on our region's environment and growth, and examine
"EcoParque" a segment of Tijuana that recycles all of its resources.

For further information and to confirm your attendance please call the
League of Women Voters of San Diego at (858) 483-8696. Seating is limited.
