inspiration and renewal, tawny cliffs rising from the buff desert 
floor, wind singing through box canyons, and sunsets that seem to 
cause the ancient buttes and spires to glow from within. We hear the

PERMACULTURE DESIGN CERTIFICATE COURSE in Sedona Arizona

We have an exciting opportunity to take part in the PERMACULTURE 
DESIGN CERTIFICATE COURSE in Sedona Arizona from Saturday, Sept. 18 
through Friday, Oct.1.   This two week intensive course will be 
taught by Larry Santoyo and Guests.   Larry Santoyo is Director of 
EarthFlow Design Works and  the Center of Natural Design.  Guest 
speakers, field trips and local experts on various sustainability 
topics will add depth and perspective to this intensive.  

WHAT IS PERMACULTURE?
Permaculture is a wholistic design system for sustainable human 
environments that integrates disciplines relating to food, shelter, 
energy, water, plants, animals, weather, waste management & economics 
to create systems capable of greater yields than the usual status quo 
systems.  Permaculture ethics are based on Earth Care, People Care & 
Efficient and Fair use and distribution of the Earth's limited 
resources.    

ABOUT THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR:
Larry Santoyo is an artist with formal training in land use planning, 
resource protection and product development. He is among the most 
experienced Permaculture Designers and Teachers in the US.  Santoyo 
has taught environmental design courses at colleges and universities 
nationwide, including UC Berkeley and California State Polytechnic 
University.  Since 1983, he has assisted private individuals in the 
design and installation of residential ecosystems and has assisted 
companies in developing industrial ecologies and sustainable business 
practices.  His land use planning and design services have taken him 
to villages on three continents and has also included urban 
permaculture projects in Los Angeles and New York City.  Santoyo's 
specialized services have been used by the American Solar Energy 
Society,  his sustainable agriculture and product development 
services for Odwalla Juice Co. and his ecovillage facilities design 
services for Princeton University.

ABOUT THIS COURSE:
This course is a residential two week "intensive" on ten remote 
wilderness acres at the foothills of the red rocks near Boynton 
Canyon in Sedona.  The main structure on the property is a monolithic 
dome powered by wind and solar.  Field trips and hands on learning 
are part of this course.  There will also be free time to relax 
and/or explore.  This 72 hour curriculum will cover Bill Mollison's 
Permaculture Designers Manual and additionally include new and 
expanded material.  Successful completion entitles the Permaculture 
Design Course graduate to use the  term "Permaculture" in pursuit of 
livelihood.
