LOCATION: 2842 Country Club Drive, Harmony Grove-Elfin Forest Area, North
County, San Diego
Sky Mountain Institute in partnership with The Escondido Creek
Conservancyinvites you to a Permaculture Workshop on water
conservation. Receiving less
than 10 inches of rainfall per year, the San Diego area is a desert
landscape. However, in one inch of rainfall 27,000 gallons of rain will fall
on one acre of land. This workshop will show you how to harness this free
resource by designing and implementing sustainable water-harvesting systems
for your home, landscape, and community.

    Saturday May 30th
Discussion about how you can benefit your watershed.
Rainwater harvesting principles and techniques.
Installing a rainwater cistern - hands on demonstration.
Assessing your site’s water resources.


     Sunday May 31st
Rainwater harvesting with earthworks.
Hands on construction of berms, basins and
swales.

Grey water harvesting principles and techniques.
How to implement a branch drain system – hands on demonstration.

COST: $100 May 30th and 31st or $50 for day one or $50 for day two if you
are unable to attend both days.
Bring a vegetarian dish or item to contribute to a potluck lunch and a
shovel and work gloves.
