              *Tending the Fires of Spirit*

*with Barry Brailsford<http://e2ma.net/go/6966238570/208469867/219680347/1408048/goto:http://barrybrailsford.com/>from
Aotearoa~New Zealand, Tautahcho Muhuawit, and Warren Brush

at Quail Springs

Saturday & Sunday*
*April 2-3, 2011*

Join us on this two-day journey of the heart where we will be exploring the
mutual interdependence of humans and spirit and how we can tend this
relationship as a way to feed all that gives life. Join Barry, Tautahcho,
and Warren as they weave together storytelling, prophecy, ceremony and hands
on origins skills from the Waitaha of New Zealand, the Chumash of central
California and from other peoples of the world who nurture their indigenous
soul while tending to the fires of spirit.

*Barry says we are much more than we think we are. Chosen by Maori elders
to carry ancient lore to sustain us in today’s world he speaks of abilities,
understandings, powers and truths seeded by our ancestors that we can access
today. What we have forgotten, nay even denied, are wells of wisdom that
still reside in each of us. He says he offers nothing that we don’t already
carry deep inside, that he merely opens doors into our knowing which we
already hold in our DNA, or ancient memory. We are space travelers hurtling
through the universe at the* *call of the sun and lit by the moon. That
journey and all it offers today has been woven into our ancient families
over eons of time. We are the sum of all that has ever been, we are the
ancestors.*

*Barry Brailsford*, New Zealand, graduated MA (Hons) in History from
Canterbury University, was a member of the NZ Archaeology Association
Council and a Principal Lecturer at the Christchurch College of Education.
In 1990 he was awarded an MBE for his contribution to education and Maori
scholarship. Since 1990 he has been writing full time. Barry’s work is a
journey through the wisdom traditions of indigenous Pacific peoples. His
books include, The Tattooed Land (1982, new edition 1997), Greenstone Trails
(1984, new edition 1996) and Song of Waitaha (1994) Song of the Stone (1995)
The series of five novels, The Chronicles of the Stone (1996 –98), Wisdom of
the Four Winds (1999), Song of the Old Tides (2004), and In Search of the
Southern Serpent (2006). Learn more about Barry at:

*Tautahcho Muhuawit*: Wot'ka (chief) Elder of Spirit Pine Sanctuary, is of
the Muhu Clan, from the Chumash, Ohlone, and Zapotec indigenous tribes. Born
into the Owo Kuou ("White Oak") family, Tautahcho was raised by the family
clan mother on and off the Zanja Cota Reservation. Tautahcho is a keeper of
Ancient Ways of spirit worship passed down from his ancestors. He is
honored to share what he has learned with you, so that all children to come
will inherit this
knowledge and wisdom.

*Warren Brush* is a mentor, storyteller, permaculture designer and educator.
He has worked for over 25 years in inspiring people of all ages to discover,
nurture and express their inherent gifts while living in a sustainable and
respectful manner. He is co-founder of Quail Springs Learning Oasis &
