Genie Z. Laborde is the author of several books, including: Influencing with Integrity: “Management Skills for Communication and Negotiation” (151,000 sold); the follow-up book, “Fine Tune Your Brain: When Everything’s Going Right and What To Do When It Isn’t,” the workbook “90 Days to Communication Excellence,” and the pending “Serendipity in the Workplace.” “Influencing with Integrity” has been translated into French, Spanish, German, Japanese and Polish. Her latest is Influencing with Integrity on the Internet, which is both an eBook and hard cover in print, and the updated “Influence with Integrity” eBook, premiering April 5th at the ConsciousCapitalism.org conference.

She has produced the video training films and courses, “Influencing Skills,” “TeleSkills,” “Managing Meetings with PEGASUS,” and “Paradigm Changes in Business” (co-produced with Florida Power and Light). The videos and trainings have been purchased by Fortune 500 Companies and educational institutions including Hewlett-Packard, Chase Manhattan Bank, IBM, Rochester Institute of Technology, Continental Airlines, and Eastman Kodak. Her videos, books and course materials are also available in Spanish.

Dr. Laborde holds a Ph.D. in Confluent Education from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Confluent Education, based on Gestalt psychology, is the study of the affective and cognitive domains in learning. Her program was funded by a Ford Foundation Grant for Innovative Education. Dr. Laborde received her Master’s degree from Tulane University and her Bachelor’s from Louisiana State University. She is listed in Who’s Who in the West . She was formerly on the MBA faculty at John F. Kennedy University and the University of California Santa Cruz extension, and has taught courses at Vanderbilt University, Stanford University and University of California Santa Barbara. She is also an artist and has sold approximately fifty paintings across the last ten years.
