Jane Holtz Kay is the architecture/planning critic for the Nation Magazine
and the author of Asphalt Nation: How the Automobile Took Over America
and How We Can Take it Back. 

Jane will use illustrations from her book, cartoons and slides of
advertisements and historic images to expand on her examination of how the
automobile has deformed America's cities and landscape over the past 100
years, and what we can do about it!

*Books will be on sale by Urban Inversion.  Co-sponsored by Los Angeles
Bicycle Coalition, Los Angeles Walks and the Surface Transportation Policy
Project.  Other book talks with Jane:  Wed. 6/2 at Vromans (695 E.
