LBO Movie Night: "The Global Gardener" -- Friday, April 28 at 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of LB

Back by popular demand, Long Beach Organic will be hosting another screening of "The Global Gardener".

In this video, Permaculture teacher & author Bill Mollison takes viewers on a fascinating, worldwide tour of sustainable
agriculture efforts that are changing the way people interact with their environment. Find out how African tribes are
transforming barren deserts to productive, agricultural oases. See how others are using unique plant combinations to
purify household wastewater and provide food for their families. Learn how city dwellers are making effective use of a
commonly neglected resource to improve their health and their communities.

Experience the age-old methods of designing with nature. Discover how you can be a part of the worldwide renaissance to
restore the environment, improve health & nutrition, reinvigorate neighborhoods, create economic alternatives, increase
community food-security, and save money at the same time.

This two hour four-part series was made for the Australian Broadcasting Corp. and aired to national acclaim. The video
highlights subtropical, drylands, temperate, and urban permaculture systems with footage from developed sites in India,
South Africa, Australia, the USA, United Kingdom, and Europe. Anyone with an interest in gardening, the environment,
ecology, sociology, and sustainable living should not miss this important video!
