here's something that is less stupid than usual
kinda think globally, drink locally...(my new brew pub slogan)

but any rational person knows that ge labels & fair trade won't pass in a
repugnican administraftion - - pah leeze!

so instead, maybe think about asking your favorite java joint where them
magic BEANS come from! and if they answer other than "happy peasants, of
course" maybe buy a smaller size or don't pay for the biscuotti

or try maté

ew

Hello Coffee Lovers and that includes those little mocha java thingys too,

As you may have already heard OCA's Starbucks campaign, the largest ever
mounted against a major US food and beverage company around the issues of
genetic engineering and Fair Trade, has been a tremendous success so far.
The campaign launch on March 20th involved protesters in over 100 cities in
the US and Canada and generated hundreds of media stories. With over 150
cities now participating in ongoing leafleting actions we need at least one
final push to force Starbucks to the negotiating table. THREE WEEKS FROM NOW
ON JUNE 25-26 WE WILL BE ORGANIZING STARBUCKS GLOBAL DAYS OF ACTION.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THESE DAYS OF ACTION SUCCESSFUL AND HELP GUARANTEE
THAT STARBUCKS REMOVE GENETICALLY ENGINEERED INGREDIENTS FROM THEIR CAFES,
BREW FAIR TRADE COFFEE ON A REGULAR BASIS AND IMPROVE WORKING CONDITIONS ON
THE PLANTATIONS WHICH GROW THEIR COFFEE.

If you are willing to participate please contact
<simon at organicconsumers.org> or call 510-525-7054. Please tell our staff
which Starbucks outlet(s) you will be leafleting, when and
where, and we will be happy to send you an organizing packet. In the
meantime you can read about the latest campaign developments on the special
Starbucks section on our web page, which is updated daily.

Starbucks has been under fire from all sides and is receiving more and more
negative publicity in the press. Based on the public statements of their top
management, it is clear that Starbucks is increasingly worried. With your
support we will see a complete victory in the next 30-60 days.

Again, thanks for your help, and congratulations in advance for helping us
force Starbucks to the negotiating table.

Regards & Solidarity,
Ronnie Cummins, National Director, Organic Consumers Association
