Land Apprenticeship and Permaculture Happening "LAPH"

May 16th (Sunday) - July 10th (Saturday) 2004
Cost: $1800

The Lama Foundation is pleased to offer an eight-week "Land Apprenticeship
and Permaculture Happening" (LAPH) that will include classroom work,
hands-on work, independent projects, field trips, "Build Here Now" natural
building convergence, and permaculture certification. Class size will be
small to allow for intimate and direct teachings.

Our classroom is the land; this program focuses on creating hands-on
experiences for each student. This program is designed for people who want
to apply these skills and teachings as a lifelong practice.

Teachings will include: water and water systems, food production, forest
gardening, greenhouses, patterning, permaculture design concepts, roads and
trails, building mitigation and integration, natural building, homesteading
and the edge between the social and the physical.

The Lama Foundation is a spirit-based intentional community located at 8600
feet in the Sangre de Cristo mountains 20 miles north of Taos, New Mexico.
Lama's 105 acres is surrounded by Carson National Forest. We are off the
grid, and our water comes from an ancient mountain spring. In 1996, fire
swept through and destroyed 95% of the surface vegetation and 22 out of 29
buildings. Since then, Lama's regrowth has been vibrant and expansive. We
invite you to be a part of it!
