Teacher of Science: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies
2004-05 School year

Happy Valley is a small, progressive, college preparatory high school
located in the hills above Ojai in Ventura County California. The
school was the site of a Permaculture design course taught by Bill
Mollison in 1997. Since then the school has developed an extensive
Permaculture program and the candidate must have interest and/or
experience in this area. Current permaculture projects on the land
include a greenhouse, 55' diameter circular garden, mixed fruit
orchards of over 100 trees and
extensive native regeneration projects. Classes would include
Environmental Science, Biology, and Chemistry.

Teaching at HVS is a mentor-based program, with small classes and
close relationships with students. Responsibilities include
participation in the Outdoor Education Program. The ability to coach
a sport would be an asset.

Candidates must be positive, dedicated teachers, thoroughly prepared
and enthusiastic in their subject area, be comfortable working with
adolescents and as part of an involved faculty team.

Salary is negotiable, based upon experience.

Applicants should send a resume and a brief cover letter to:
