Feb 12th/13th: Trail Building School in Santa Barbara

Hello,

This Feb 12th and 13th, the renowned IMBA Trail Care Crew and SBMTV will
be holding one of the best two day trail building and maintaining
classes available.  The two day class will focus on building and
maintaining sustainable trails - trails that are environment friendly,
mitigate erosion and control water flow, reduce user conflicts, and
improve all users experience of the trail.

The TCC class is for and open to all community members, hikers,
equestrians, bicyclists, outdoor and environmental organizations, and
government agencies.

Saturday Feb 12th, 9am, Los Padres National Forest Supervisor's office
in Goleta (6755 Hollister Rd., just east of the K-Mart shopping center):
The Subaru/IMBA TCC will present examples of sustainable trail design
and construction from around the world. Question and Answer session.
Saturday afternoon we'll move to Elings Park to work on hands on trail
design and start construction of a brand new trail. 

Sunday Feb 13th, 9am, Elings Park: Hands on trail construction
techniques - Rolling grade dips, grade reversals, switchbacks, trails
slope and grade, other water control techniques.

This event is also in support of the Santa Barbara Trails Alliance - a
group of individuals and organizations working to make a sustainable and
environmentally friendly trails system and community.  Info at
