                       Inspirations from the Forest
                      A Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit
                          January 30-February 12
                              (Monday-Friday)

                                Open House, 
                        Saturday, February 11, 2006
                                 (12-4 pm)

                        Los Padres National Forest
                       Santa Barbara Ranger District

    This exhibition illustrates how artists, writers and musicians draw
     inspiration from the world of nature.  Artists and Forest Service
employees, from around the country are showcased in this national traveling
                                 exhibit.

   Among the artists whose work is showcased are Hugh Slayden, landscape
painter of Solvang; Phillip Gerlach, nature photographer of Santa Ynez, and
                Scott Lacy, batik artist of Santa Barbara.



               *Teachers:  special programs can be arranged.

                            *Special features:

   Mule packing presentation by  Forest Service Wilderness Wranglers, meet
  Wildland Firefighters, and guided nature walk with wildlife biologist.

         Early bird:  9AM Oak Planting @ 1st Crossing Day Use Area
