What is Hybrid Adobe? - Hybrid Adobe is a revolutionary building
material used to create low-cost insulated homes, sculptures, domes,
garden walls, stairs and more. Hybrid Adobe combines recycled paper
with earth, sand, and a binder to create a more sustainable,
inexpensive, very strong, fibered material that can be poured,
sprayed, or sculpted, to form blocks, logs, panels, walls, and an
infinite variety of creative shapes and patterns. Its excellent
strength and insulation values come from the interlocking fibers of
shredder paper contained in the mixtures.

The course -The workshop will be hands-on learning, combined with
discussion and lectures about various Hybrid Adobe formulas, recipes,
techniques and applications. The Hybrid Adobe we make will be used in
the construction of our outdoor restroom and showers facility, now 30%
complete. We will be setting stones, pouring the last of the floors
and creating the walls using a spray application method. Each stage
requires different formulas in order to achieve the various strengths
and insulation values desired for floors, walls, mortars, etc. This
will be an opportunity to learn and discover a relatively new method
of construction and artistic creation that is nontoxic and only
requires the smallest amount of cement or "Roman Cement" (only lime,
clay and sand) can be used as an alternative. Click here to register!
