Ganna Walska Lotusland is a leading private
garden in Montecito, that uses all organic
methods to maintain healthy plants and deal with
pests. Most of the plant residue is composted and
some of the compost is brewed into compost tea.
These are the basic tools used to improve the
health of plants on this unique 37-acre estate
and botanic garden. With healthy plants, pest and
disease control is much easier.

Compost Tea is a brewed product where microbes
and nutrients are extracted from compost in an
aerated water tank. The tea has wonderful
qualities of bringing life to damaged plantscapes
improving plant growth, decreasing disease and
reducing insect pests. Compost tea is sprayed on
the leaves of plants for leaf diseases and insect
pests or it is drenched into the soil for root problems.

The Ventura Organic Garden Club just formed and
plans a full schedule of talks, workshops, garden
tours, and shared advice on growing plants with
natural methods. Join us and help green up Ventura.
