Subject: Garden Master Position Available at Community Roots Garden in Oxnard
This is to inform you about an exciting garden-related job opportunity. The Community Roots Garden in Oxnard has entered into a partnership with Community Action of Ventura County which will allow the garden to expand its community education and outreach efforts, especially targeting low income members of the community.
Funding is available to hire one, possibly two, temporary (5-month) Garden Master positions to assist with this project. The job announcement can be found on Community Action's website at www.ca-vc.org/Jobs.aspx?menu=5#1. (Note that the term - 10-months - listed in the job description is incorrect due to funding delays.)
The job description includes garden managing tasks as well as community outreach tasks. We encourage those who feel they are qualified in only one of these areas to apply anyway as it may be that the job is best accomplished by two positions. This job announcement is open until filled. The announcement could be closed in as little as two weeks (by April 9), so if you are interested in the position, it is important that you apply as soon as possible.
Please email any questions you have about the position to info at communityrootsgarden.org. Job applications are to be submitted to Community Action.
Please also help us by posting and circulating this announcement as appropriate.
Information about the garden and Community Action can be found below, along with the URLs to their websites.
