         Aboriginal Skills with Matt Brummett
 Get Primitive Friday night talk
There will be a table of primitive tools and crafts for people to interact
with. Matt will talk for about one and a quarter hours discussing topics
including the difference between wilderness survival and primitive living
as well as a talk about primitive people and a short story regarding
culture 10,000 years ago. During the last 45 minutes the group will attempt
primitive fire making techniques. This will encourage hands on
participation.

 Aboriginal Skills Workshop with Matt Brummett
In this 2 day hands-on course we will explore several skills common to all
indigenous cultures. This is a outdoor class that is hands on. Please bring
what you will need for the day, water, snacks, lunch, hat, layers of
clothing, work gloves and a full tang (a non-folding knife) or folding
knife that locks. Over the weekend participants will experience a
tantalizing taste of primitive skills that has shaped all civilizations on
earth:

 *3)  Shelter*
 *4)  Stone tools*
 *5)  Wooden containers*
 *6)  Dead-fall trap*

 MATT BRUMMETT
------------------------------
 Matt Brummett has logged more than 2000 field days in backcountry settings
in ecosystems as diverse as Alaska, Scotland, Ireland, Switzerland, the
coasts of North America, Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. Matt’s
training has included studies such as animal tracking, primitive traps and
primitive hunting technologies. In 2000 he received a Bachelor’s degree in
Outdoor Experiential Education with a focus in Wholistic Healing from
Prescott College. Matt has numerous trainings and certifications such as
Wilderness First Responder, PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics),
Restorative Justice circle training, Verbal Judo, learning styles, Fire
Safety, group facilitation, Gang Awareness and many more.
