Imagine...

...a place where people from throughout the community can get to know one another, develop the skills of collaboration, cooperatively meet our basic needs, and celebrate life together.

We see that world conditions are perilous. And we are each doing what we can to live a better life and resist what is destroying life. What if we had a place of our own to stand together for the world we want? A place where we can learn, work, and play together. A place for events, services, beneficial work, and healing. A place for cooperative enterprises and collaborative not-for-profit organizations through which we may earn our livelihoods by serving the real needs of our community. A place with perhaps a co-op cafe, food co-op, artisans co-op, events co-op, learning co-op, construction co-op, land stewardship co-op, child and elder care co-op, health and healing co-op or whatever else we want to provide and the community wants and needs.

Tonight, Thursday, June 13 from 7-9pm at the Westside Neighborhood Center, 423 W. Victoria St. SB, Interplay invites you to imagine how we might create such a place for all in our community who want to live in dignity, cooperation, and love. We will first learn about similar places already successful and existing frameworks to make it happen. Then in small groups we will explore possibilities in Santa Barbara and create practical ways forward. We ask a small donation of $5-10 to cover our costs and enable us to continue to serve the community. No one will be turned away for lack of funds and parking is free.
