GREEN DRINKS BENEFIT for 4th ANNUAL SOL FOOD FESTIVAL

Featuring Marge Cafarelli from SB Public Market; Food/Drink/Silent Auction

SANTA BARBARA, CA. For the 4th year, the Sustainable, Organic, Local (SOL) Food Festival will again be held in Plaza de Vera Cruz in downtown Santa Barbara, in partnership with the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. The festival will highlight the best of the region’s food, farmers and engaged citizens as we seek to create a better food future. The festival will be held on Saturday, September 28th 2013 from 10am-6pm.

On, Tuesday, September 17h from 6-8pm, Santa Barbara Green Drinks will again host a pre-festival September fundraiser in order to support the operation of this annual community festival. All are welcome! The event takes place at the beautiful downtown courtyard of the Environmental Defense Center at 906 Garden St.

The event’s guest speaker will be Margaret Cafarelli, the founder and visionary behind the Santa Barbara Public Market, opening soon on the corner of Chapala and Victoria Street. Margaret will share the inspiration behind the market, how the Market intends to build community and supports local food.

Food and drink at Green Drinks will be generously provided by SOL Food Festival sponsors including Whole Foods Market, Isabella’s Gourmet Foods, the Juice Club, Figueroa Mountain Brew Co. and Firestone Walker Brewing Company. Music by Adam Phillips and a silent auction will round out the evening.

Entry fee is $15 and includes all appetizers and one free beverage, with price of entry and additional beverage sales going directly to SOL Food.

For additional information, please contact Cristina Cook from LoaTree at 209.430.7927. LoaTree serves as the monthly host for Santa Barbara Green Drinks and is the official production partner for the annual SOL Food Festival.

Special thanks to Cox Communications, 1% for the Planet, the Orfalea Foundations, and Whole Foods Market for being our 2013 SOL Food Festival lead cash sponsors.
